I’ve done two commissions with Gilded Skull and been very happy with both of them. It’s a simple discussion to understand the painting grade you expect and to get a quote for the models. The deposit to start the commission is reasonable and you can easily request photos of your models while they are in the painting process. 

Both commissions were great, the first one I asked for a parade level to match a box paint scheme, and it turned out exactly like I envisioned, they even used a really detailed decal for text. 

The second commission was for Spacehulk Terminators and I already had one painted and wanted the rest to match that feel. They nailed this perfectly and I can’t stop looking at them. 

Gilded Skull have reasonable prices, good communication, and quick turnaround. I’d recommend them to anyone.

“So I just wanted to take a minute to share experiences of working with the Studios.
I first discovered them when looking for a commission artist who could paint my Thousand Sons, not an easy army to paint but I assumed they would be up to the task.


I actually messaged a few other studios first but with the long waiting lists and the frankly obnoxious prices, this seemed like the place to go.
I was very impressed by the website it was clear and well laid out, with some great examples of their work, I was convinced that this was the right place after seeing the work they did on Abaddon the Despoiler, if you haven’t seen it, go take a look.


I requested a quote late that evening and my message was answered first thing the next morning, I was expecting to wait at least a few days, much like other studios so I was very impressed.
After a detailed conversation about what I was looking to get commissioned, a VERY reasonable quote was offered up and I said yes straight away.
I’ll admit I wasn’t the easiest of customers but any questions I had or changes I wanted to make were dealt with in a very professional way.
I was initially nervous to hand over all my models and money to strangers but with constant updates from the studio and the work-in-progress photos, I felt very secure.


When my army arrived at my door I was impressed at how well it had been packed, not a single break or stuff, it stunned me to see just good they all looked, I had obviously seen photos along the way and of the final product but just something else to hold it in your hands and really appreciate the work
 obviously I thought this was all too good to be true so I check and rechecked every model to find something wrong with them any missed parts, cut corners, smudges anything really but NOTHING was out of place.
I immediately contacted the studio again and organised my next lot of work!”
